The Whole World As 100 People

(As reported in Robert L. Dilenschneider's annual 1997 Report to Clients)

If we could shrink the earth's population to a village of precisely 100
people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, it would
look like this:

There would be --
57 Asians
21 Europeans
14 from the Western Hemisphere (north and south)
8 Africans
52 would be female
48 would be male
70 would be non-white, 30 white
70 would be non-Christian, 30 would be Christian
89 would be heterosexual, 11 homosexual
59% of the entire world's wealth would be in the hands of 6 people
and all 6 would be citizens of the United States
80 would live in substandard housing
70 would be unable to read
50 would suffer from malnutrition
1 would be near death
1 would be a new born baby
1 would have a college education
1 would own a computer

Makes you think ???

"Every day we slaughter our finest impulses.
That is why we get a heartache when we read those lines written by the hand of a master and recognise them as our own, as the tender shoots which we stifled because we lacked the faith to believe in our own powers, our own criteria of truth and beauty.
Every man, when he gets quiet, when he becomes deperately honest with himself, is capable of uttering profound truths. We all derive from the same source. There is no mystery about the origin of things. We are all part of creation, all kings, all poets, all musicians; we have only to open up, only to discover what is already there".

Henry Miller

you may have the wrong half.

How would someone else solve your problem?

Make a list of ten people who's qualities and attributes are different to yours. Then, when you are next tackling a problem, ask yourself how they would each solve it. The insights can be extraordinary.

How would Attila the Hun design your marketing plan?
How would Gandhi talk to your bank manager?

Who is your A-Team?

Make a list of twenty people who will go out of their way to help you and your business. Your advocates. Print it out as a document and keep a copy handy at your desk.  Never let these people get further than 30 days away from you! Plan some sort of contact with all of them each month. Phone call, postcard, copy of an article of interest etc. Jot ideas down on the page how you can help them. Each month print out a new sheet and make sure you action the ideas you came up with. Every three months review your list. Should you add anyone? Remove any? Why?
